Smartphones killing a camera, Camcorder Says Study

A new study has revealed how the popularity of ever expanding smartphone existential threat for causing low end cameras and Camcorders in the United States.

This study conducted by NPD Group-US based research outfits, and according to the findings of the first year, 11 months running registered 17 percent decline in traditional point and shoot camera market compared to where the sales figures standing in the last year, during the same period.

The camera did a little better-but still, past decline 13 percent in terms of sales from January to November this year.

“When you combine the fact that the smartphone camera quality have increased by about 10-fold from where we were five years ago and the fact that we have all the applications and services that make it easy to host photos” Chris Green, the main technology analyst in European Group, describes Davies Murphy, BBC News reported.
